La Ruta

Overview

La Ruta by Isaac Gómez is inspired by real testimonies from the families of women who went missing in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. As the graphic designer at Steppenwolf Theatre, I was tasked with creating the show art and marketing materials for this production.

My Role

I met with the playwright and director of La Ruta to brainstorm ideas and key visuals for the show art. I created the show image using digital drawing in Photoshop. Once the marketing team was satisfied with my illustration, I helped coordinate a photoshoot with all eight actresses and the director for use in a direct mail marketing piece.

Outcome

The entire creative team of La Ruta was thrilled with the show art and were appreciative of the sensitivity that was taken towards the subject matter of the production. Deliverables for this production included:
